The key is to stay focused on your top initiatives. Pursue them with energy and rigor.  Stay close to projects, issues, and staffing challenges.  Conduct regular project status meetings, know where things stand, and communicate with stakeholders and management. Transparency is key. Regular update meetings with project team members sends a message that you are committed to getting things done.
